eBay.com Advises Canadian Media Sellers to Adjust Pricing (AuctionBytes)

eBay suggested that Canadian sellers of media products adjust their pricing when selling on the US site to deal with a new eBay.com shipping policy. Beginning on Friday, eBay is imposing a cap on shipping charges in the Books, Movies & DVDs, Music, and Video Games categories on eBay.com.

Internet pioneer Marc Andreessen joins eBay board (AP via Yahoo! Finance)

EBay Inc. said Tuesday that Internet pioneer Marc Andreessen, who made a fortune by selling Web browsing company Netscape Communications to AOL for $10 billion while still in his 20s, has joined the online auctioneer’s board of directors.

Conn. man gets prison for pirating videos (Boston Globe)

An East Hartford man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for pirating more than 8,000 copies of TV shows and movies and selling them on eBay for more than $100,000.

One of my favorite pastimes is browsing online auction sites. No matter what you are looking for, chances are the granddaddy of those sites, eBay, has it — and often, at a bargain price.

eBay Loses Mojo on Google Search (AuctionBytes)

I was doing some searching on Google on September 18th for sewing patterns for Halloween costumes when I observed something interesting. eBay listings did not appear to be showing up high in natural search on Google for my searches. So I did searches for some traditional eBay items, such as Fenton Glass and Beanie Babies. There were no eBay listings on the first page of Google search results.

Ex-CBP employee pleads guilty to theft charge (FOX 11 Tucson)

A 37-year old Tucson man formerly employed by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) pleaded guilty to a charge of theft of government property. James Williams was accused of stealing a pair of night goggles worth almost $7,000 from CBP in 2007, selling them on ebay and keeping the proceeds.
