I recently visited the great buddha in Kamakura Japan and had a good time there. The statue is very big and has a lot of tourists viewing it everyday. I even wnent inside it and could see the joints of the various sections holding it together, but it was hot.
Near the Great Buddha or Daibutsu as the Japanese say there is a shrine deicated to stillborn babies which has interesting things to see. There is a big standing buddha statue there too.
I haven't been to Nara and thought if someone has they could comment on it.
Are there any other bid buddha statues in Japan?.... guide to the Wall in Beijing - Hi guys:
When trvelling in Beijing , the Great Wall must be one of the most attractive highlights, especiall for the tourists who are the first time visiting Beijing. But which sections of the wall will you guys go? I have some recommend.
Actually so far now there are more than ten sections of the wall are open to the tourists. And the most popular are Badaling wall, Juyongguan Wall, Mutianyu Wal, Jinshanling Wall and Simatai Wall.
Badaling Wall is very crowed and very commercial, most Chinese go there. And it is very New Wall becaues it has been rebuild many times. People only takes about 1.5hs can finish their wall tour. To people who want to see the real wall, maybe they will be disappointed.
Actually Mutianyu Wall is more and more popular among regular touists. Especiall to people who only want to a leisure tour on the wall , meanwhile the wall is not crowed .... never been in japan - I have never been to japan before. not that i am definately going, but i would like try and plan a trip for this winter. if i were to spend 10 days there where would be the best places to go?.... Train From Goa to Cochin.. - I want to get a train from Goa to Cochin on 11th or 12th of December.

There are many good palace and super luxury hotels is India. Anyone can tell if people consider India for there Luxury travel or not??
I know it is always hard to travel in India but in last years India did very good developments for tourism.

Raju India ... Where to visit in the Caribbean? - Hey!
I have accumulated a load of free airmiles with AA and can now get to anywhere in the caribbean from London for free! I am however unsure of where to go, i was thinking maybe St Lucia or St Kitts but there are so many places. I am looking for a place to relax, nice beach, some sun and some good drink. Any suggestions anyone?.... the Best Island in Thailand? - I Have been to a few of the islands of Thailand , and so far, I havnt been to one I dont like. However, I think they are all quite different and want to get other travellers opinion on which is the best, and why?
I have visited Phuket, Ko Samui, Ko Chang (east), and Ko Samet,and loved them all.
Controversially, I would select Ko Samet as my favourite! It is smaller than the other islands, and much flatter and less tropical. However, I loved the total beach focus of living right on the beach, and walking on sand for everwhere you want to go. Sleep in a bungalow on the edge of the beach, eat at a restaurant on the beach, with the tide lapping at your feet, sit all day on beach chairs, swim in the beautiful green/blue, almost warm water . Also, is has far less western tourists (although gets a bit overrun on weekends by Bangkokians).... Newzealand's Hokey pokey - I think Newzealand is a very beautyful country and the air is super fresh!!(I stayed in south island,Timaru).
I've been there, and just fell in love with the icecream. :D and miss it very much.
Have anyone tried it? or Missed it?.... Costa Rica affordable alternative to Hawaii w/ more variety - Lets face it, Hawaii is a unique destination. The beaches, the climate, the culture and the excellent resorts make for a combination that is really hard to beat. However in these trouble economic times, people are looking at the price tag for their annual Hawaii vacation and considering alternatives.
Costa Rica provides a wonderful, more affordable alternative. Many equate Costa Rica with Mexico. This is a mistake. Costa Ricans are better educated and enjoy a higher standard of living. Costa Rica is cleaner than Mexico and you can drink the water here. In fact the medical system in Costa Rica is rated ahead than that of the United States by the world health organization.
So before heading off to Hawaii this winter consider Costa Rica. I lived on Maui for eight years and I have lived in Costa Rica for two years, here are the pros and cons between a Hawaii and a Costa Rica Vacation.... It's like normal hangman, except it's travel related. It might be a place, the name of a company, something that you do when you travel anything that's got something to do with travel.
OK, first off we need some rules:
1. You are allowed up to 12 wrong guesses a guess could be the suggestion of a letter or the suggestion of the whole thing
2. Nobody is allowed to make a guess until the person that's started the game has responded to any outstanding guesses. For example, if someone guesses 'A', you must first wait for the originator of the game to confirm whether there is or isn't an 'A' in the word. It's also probably helpful if the originator posts a list of wrong guesses to date....
